Brad Banks


Lead Pastor
First Baptist Church
Owenton, KY

Brad Banks has served as lead pastor of the First Baptist Church in Owenton, KY since April 2009. In ministry since 1985, he has served as a lead pastor for 34 of those 38 years, in churches in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee before coming to Kentucky. Brad’s call to ministry coincides with his salvation at age 12 and surrender to that call at age 17.  He graduated from Criswell College in Dallas, TX in 1985 and from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN in 1989. Brad has served in many roles at the associational level and as a member of the mission boards of the Arkansas Baptist Convention and Kentucky Baptist Convention.  He also serves as a trustee for Clear Creek Baptist Bible College. He and his wife, Libby, a pastor’s kid, married in 1983 and have one daughter, three sons, a son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons.

Tony Carson

Tony Carson accepted the call to serve as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sonora, KY in 2010. Since entering the ministry in 1966, he has served churches in Tennessee, West Virginia, Florida, and Kentucky. Tony is a veteran and served in the United States Air Force prior to entering the ministry. He has served as a trustee of the North American Mission Board and in many other denominational roles. Tony is a graduate of Cumberland College and has a Master of Theology degree from International Seminary in Florida.  He and his wife, Peggy, have been married since 1959, have four children, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Brent Gupton

Brent Gupton is pastor of the Meadowview Baptist Church in Campbellsville, KY. He has been in ministry since March 1980 and has served as a pastor since June 1982. He served six other churches in central Kentucky before coming to Meadowview in 2003. He has a BA in Biblical Studies from Campbellsville University and a MS in Security Management from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE.  As a bi-vocational pastor, he also worked in business management for more than 30 years.  Brent and his wife, Davina, married in 1978 and have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren.

Mark Keith


Associational Missions Strategist
Knox Baptist Association
Barbourville, KY

Mark Keith serves as president of the Kentucky Chapter.  He also serves as the associational missions strategist for the Knox Association of Kentucky Baptists in Barbourville, KY.  Since entering the ministry in 1973, Mark has served as pastor of six churches in Kentucky and as evangelism director for the Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention. He is a graduate of Cumberland College and received his MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is a third-generation Southern Baptist preacher. He and his wife, Gayle, also a pastor’s kid, have been married since 1975 and have a daughter, a son, and seven grandchildren.

John Raizor

John Raizor is vice-president of the Kentucky Chapter.  He is the director of church outreach for the Family Foundation of Kentucky, a non-profit organization advocating for God-honoring public policy.  He also serves on the staff of the Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY as associate pastor. John has served as a youth minister and in other staff roles in several churches in Kentucky since entering the ministry in 1995.  He is an alumnus of Jefferson Community College and Louisville Bible College. Married since 1994, he and his wife, Missy, have three daughters, two sons-in -aw, and one grandson.

Kentucky Baptists launch Conservative Baptist Network state chapter

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky.—The Conservative Baptist Network continues to gain momentum across the United States, announcing the launch of the eleventh state chapter representing Kentucky.

Leading the Kentucky chapter are John Raizor and Mark Keith. Raizor has served in ministry for 27 years and currently serves on staff as an associate pastor at Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Ky. Raizor also works full time as a director of church outreach for The Family Foundation, a non-profit organization advocating for God-honoring public policy. Keith serves as a mission strategist for the Knox Baptist Association.
